A chronic inflammatory bowel disease that manifests as ulcers (sores) on your digestive tract, is called ulcerative colitis. This condition affects the inner lining of the large intestine (colon) and the rectum. This condition usually develops over a while rather than suddenly.
Sometimes, ulcerative colitis can develop into life-threatening complications. Despite the lack of a cure, treatment can significantly reduce the symptoms of the disease and induce long-term remission.
