Diabetes

What is Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease in which the body of the patient either can’t produce enough insulin needed for the available sugar/glucose or is unable to make use of the insulin available in it. Thus the sugar starts being collected in the blood.

So diabetes is literally a hormonal problem that may lead to even a few serious health issues like blindness, kidney failure, heart failure, diabetic neuropathy, and more If untreated timely. Globally, around 365 million people are suffering from this disease, out of which approx 70 million people are from India.

Types Of Diabetes

Type-1 Diabetes

This type of diabetes requires insulin for its treatment. Hence, it is also referred to as insulin-dependent diabetes. Typically, young people or children are affected by this disease. The one affected by this type of diabetes can’t produce any insulin in its body. That’s because the disease causes the destruction of the pancreatic cells in the body.

Type-2 Diabetes

Generally, this type of diabetes affects people with an age of above forty-five years and with extra body weight. Type 2 is the most common type of diabetes and people suffering from it are not able to generate or make enough insulin in their body. So the sugar is built up or collected in their blood. Why should we consider Ayurveda for curing Diabetes?

Diabetes is not caused by any chemical or biotic attack from the outside of the body. Rather, it is the result of internal chemical imbalance. Unlike the allopathic system of medical treatment, Ayurveda treats the whole body, not just the individual body parts, of the patient suffering from the disease. Whereas the allopathic system of treatment works on the principle of treating the various symptoms caused by the disease by prescribing different medicines for different symptoms.

When it comes to diabetes treatment in Ayurveda, a single medicine of Ayurveda is capable of working with multiple health issues associated with diabetes such as sugar metabolism, muscle weakness, and so on. Moreover, the Ayurvedic treatment is a natural treatment, there are generally no side effects. So it can be a wise decision to consider treating diabetes with Ayurveda.
