Infertility

What is Infertility?

Infertility is a reproductive condition in which an individual is biologically unable to contribute towards conception. It is also referred to a condition where a woman is not able to carry or sustain a pregnancy for full time. In Ayurveda, we take this problem to understand its roots. Infertility could be due to male and female factors. Ayurveda aims for a holistic approach to solve a problem. It strengthens the body’s own abilities to heal and balance the hormones. It also enhances psychological support which improves the overall life and health of the person.

Many factors affect the condition in women which affects their menstrual cycle. Fertility problems arise when impurities build up. This in turn causes a hormonal imbalance which gives rise to these problems. On the other hand, men infertility affects their sperm production. This may be because of hormonal, psychological or lifestyle related disorders. Ayurveda says that the root cause of all abnormalities in the body is because of ‘Agnimandya’ ( loss of digestive fire in the body) or due to imbalance of Doshas.

Ayurveda involves a holistic approach towards the healthy state of the reproductive tissue or the shukra dhatu.
